DIY Ruffled (NO SEW!!) "BabyLegs" Legwarmers

I've mentioned before how my sewing machine and I aren't best friends. That hasn't changed.
Sometimes, under a dress, or seasonal outfit, or whatnot, I like my Little Lady to have "Baby Legs" (legwarmers), but I don't want to pay for the cost of the real thing. So I make my own.
Usually, I just buy a pair of women's socks, and cut the feet off. I don't mind the way the cut fabric kind of curls up and gives them an "unfinished" look. I think it gives them some personality.
I've made her some for her Christmas and Valentine's outfits, as well as a pair she wore in our family portraits the other week.

These are a great and inexpensive way to accessorize your little one. And they make diaper changes a breeze! No pants to remove!
Recently I purchased a pair of socks on clearance for my Little Lady so I could make her a new pair of legwarmers. I really thought they were cute, but since they were argyle, I knew all the extra thread inside would cause fraying when I cut the feet off.
I decided to head on down to JoAnn's (OK, I was going anyways. So what?) to look for some type of trim to put on the bottom of them. I found the perfect rosette style ribbon trim for them!! I bought one yard.
When I got home, I started to work on making these super-dee-duper cute legwarmers for my Little Lady. I began by cutting the feet off, as usual. Then I busted out my handy dandy bottle of Unique Stitch (you know, because I don't want to use my sewing machine), did a rough measurement of the length of trim I needed, and proceeded to get crazy with a bottle of Diet Coke as my "form" to keep the legwarmers shaped while I applied the trim.
Lightly apply the binding glue liquid to your trim. After this step, I did smear it around a bit with my finger, to achieve better coverage.
After the trim was applied, I let it dry on the soda bottle so that it would maintain it's shape and so that the leg warmer wouldn't adhere to itself.
The directions say to let it dry for 30 minutes, and not to wash it for at least 24 hours. Because the trim is such a sheer, lacy fabric, I felt the need to let it sit more than 30 minutes. So I let it sit overnight.
Here is the finished product. I love the way it turned out, and Little Lady sure feels pretty fancy too!!'
How perfectly does this trim match her dress?
